Inter Milan have terminated the contract of midfielder Christian Eriksen, the reigning Serie A champions announced.
Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020 and was fitted with a heart-starting device, something which prevents him from playing in Italy.
“Internazionale FC announces it has found a mutual agreement for the termination of pvhristian Eriksen’s contract,” an Inter s tatement read. “The club and the whole nerazzurro family sends the player our love and wishes him the best for the future.
“Even if today Inter’s and Christian’s roads go in different directions, there will always be a strong and unbreakable bond. The best moments, the goals, the winds, the embraces with the fans outside San Siro while celebrating the title: it will all remain a part of the nerazzurro history.”
The 29-year-old has not played since he collapsed during his country’s tournament opener against Finland on June 12.
He returned to Milan to meet with the Inter hierarchy in August and in early December trained with Danish club Odense Boldklub, who he represented at youth level. READ MORE
